I learnt some Tamil, but this is very good to brush up the forgotten knowledge.
Besides this I learn many new things. The video presentations are excellent to know the daily spoken language. I never saw a site of this quality to learn any of the Indian languages. Also the cultural notes are very usefull. Regards to all the meembers of the team who prepared this site.

Not much research has went into the article on Tamil language where it states that Manimehgalai was the first Tamil literature to introduce Religion. The History of Thirumoola Naayanaar places Him around 6 000 BC to around 3 000 BC. Further evidence supports Sangam Literature hinting teachings of Saiva Sithaandha. Parimehlazhagar has stated in His commentary of the Thirukkurrall that Kadavull Vaazhthu expounds Saiva Sithaandham. Kaarikkaal Amaiyaar wrote the first Thirupadhigam (Mootha Thirupadhigam) around 100BC. The Thiruvaasagam and Thirukohvaiyaar was written in 300BC. Many works speak of the Naan Marrai (Arram, Porull, Inbam and Veedu) which existed before the Sanskrit Vehdhaas. These were adopted by Aryans and written in Sanskrit, and to claim supremacy, the Marraigall were destroyed. Thiruvalluvar was sent to re-impart the Naan Marrai to Tamils. Even though Veedu (liberation) does not have its own section, it exists throughout the work. Clearly, the first religion spoken off in Tamil literature is Saivaism, afterall the Dravidians were the first to be imparted the Religion and Philosophy. Stop spreading false ideas about our History. This is so lame.

I do agree with Yagendhrens comment, but I am not so concerned about this. Overall this is a great site, and my kids culd polish their Tamil using this. My kids also use google translation for tamil.

Thank you for the good work that you have put on this site. I liked the video presentations. We stay in the USA, and I taught my 2 children Tamil by myself, and this site helped me during the course. I also made my children watch Tamil movies online which helped them understand the various accents. If you wish to do the same, I advise you to be careful choosing movies, because not all movies may be good for kids.
