Most of the information that has been posted is very questionable. Tamil is an independent language on its own and has not been derived from brahmi script. It has not been derived from Sanskrit or greek or any other language. Tamil along with, Sanskrit, Greek, Latin, Persian constitute the 5 oldest languages. There is a saying that says " Tamil was born before the occurrence of stone and mud". So citations which say that Tamil has been derived from some other script and languages are all highly qusetionable.

The best site I ever saw to learn Tamil ! Congratulations for this wonderful work. I learnt some Tamil, but this is very good to brush up the forgotten knowledge. Besides this I learn many new things. The video presentations are excellent to know the daily spoken language. I never saw a site of this quality to learn any of the Indian languages. Also the cultural notes are very usefull. Regards to all the meembers of the team who prepared this site. Thank you.

i am very happy to see tamil language devoluping web like this , realy your team is like a military to save our tamil language, just like save a contory, you are the GOD to save our language i sulute this team, please try to conect all collage students to partispete in this web site and ask them to give their work for this site, some traslation from other language, there shoud be translation software betweeen "tamil(to or from) malayalam,kanada, telugu ,english ,hindi,urudu,malai,singhala russia,french germany' which will enrich tamil people and tamil language all tamil people have to read other language as much as they can then only we can translate important books to tamil from other language please link all the schools and collages which are all teach tamil as primary or secdory language but nay how this very good job thank you very much
